Propane - LPG Handling Courses

For over 23 years, TeamWorks Solutions has been providing the very best in regulatory-approved training programs. Our training courses provide comprehensive instruction in the safe handling of propane and propane-related equipment that meets all federal and provincial training requirements across Canada.

Many of our courses are designed to be delivered in one day or less, along with select courses available with self-study options to reduce the amount of in-class time for the student. The National Propane Storage and Handling Code for Canada (CSA B149.2) stipulates that individuals who transfer propane from one container to another must be the holder of a certificate recognized by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. All TWS LPG courses are recognized in British Columbia by Technical Safety BC, Transport Canada, and meet industry best practices.

  • This course is intended for employees who fill propane cylinders by volume or weight. Participants will be provided with comprehensive theory and practical training for the safe operation, dispensing, storage, handling, and filling of liquid propane.

    This course will verify employee understanding and demonstration of the concepts and methods as required in CSA B149.2 Code, Technical Safety BC Directive D-GA-2017-01, Transport Canada, Measurement Canada and related WorkSafeBC legislation.

    Upon successful completion of both written and hands-on examination, a Record of Training (ROT) certificate will be issued and is valid for 3 years.

  • This course is intended for employees who fill carburation cylinders used on forklift and other off-road vehicles using the volume method of filling. Participants will be provided with comprehensive theory and practical training for the safe operation, dispensing, storage, handling, and filling by volume of liquid propane gas.

    This course will verify employee understanding and demonstration of the concepts and methods as required in CSA B149.2 Code 5.2.1, Technical Safety BC Directive D-GA-2017-01, Transport Canada, Measurement Canada and related WorkSafeBC legislation.

    Upon successful completion of both written and hands-on examination, a Record of Training (ROT) certificate will be issued and is valid for 3 years.

  • This course is intended for employees who are strictly filling propane auto tanks. Participants will be provided with comprehensive theory and practical training for the safe operation, dispensing, and filling auto tanks of liquid propane gas tanks.

    This course will verify employee understanding and demonstration of the concepts and methods as required in CSA B149.2 Code 5.2.1, Technical Safety BC Directive D-GA-2017-01, Transport Canada, Measurement Canada and related WorkSafeBC legislation.

  • This course is for employees who require certification on the safe operational procedures for conducting visual inspections and cylinder re-qualification in British Columbia.

    Participants will be provided with comprehensive theory and visual inspection training in the measurement of damages, leak check, valve replacement, record keeping, storage, handling and transport, and emergency procedures.

    This course will verify employee understanding and demonstration as required in Transport Canada’s certification requirements for LPG cylinder inspection and requalification under CSA Codes B339-18, B149.2 and CGA Standards C-6, C-6.3. and related WorkSafeBC legislation.

    Upon successful completion of both written and hands-on examination, a Record of Training (ROT) certificate will be issued and is valid for 3 years.

  • This course is specifically designed for employees/operators who use propane powered construction heaters (up to 400,000 BTUH).

    Participants will be provided with comprehensive theory and practical training in the safe handling and installation of the construction heater and its components.

    This course will verify employee understanding and demonstration as required in CSA B149.1.7.18.8 Code, Technical Safety BC Directives and related WorkSafeBC legislation.

    Upon successful completion of both written and hands-on examination, a Record of Training (ROT) certificate will be issued and is valid for 3 years.

  • This course is intended for employees who handle, offer for transport or transport dangerous goods. Participants will be provided with comprehensive theory in the classification of dangerous goods, documentation regulations, means of containment, forbidden goods, safety marks, exemptions/special provisions, storage, handling, transportation and emergency procedures.

    This course will verify employee understanding and demonstration of the concepts and methods as required in Transport Canada TDG Regulations and Standards, and related WorkSafeBC legislation.

    Upon successful completion of both written and hands-on examination, a Record of Training (ROT) certificate will be issued and is valid for 3 years.

  • This course is for employees who deliver and fill propane containers using a bulk delivery truck. Participants will be provided with comprehensive theory and practical training for the safe operation, dispensing, storage tank loading, handling, and filling of liquid propane.

  • This course is for employees who for bulk plant employees who transfer propane from rail cars to bulk plant storage tanks.   • This course is intended for business owners and managers of a retail operation who sell propane to the consumer. Participants will be provided with comprehensive theory and instructor preparation to deliver in-house training of safe handling and dispensing of LPG to employees within their workplace.

    This course will verify participant understanding and demonstration of propane evaluator concepts and methods as required from Technical Safety BC, CSA B149.2 Code, Transport Canada, and related WorkSafeBC legislation.

    Upon successful completion of this course, a Record of Training (ROT) certificate will be issued and is valid for 3 years.

    *PREREQUISITES FOR EVALUATOR CERTIFICATION*

    • You are a holder of a current LPG fuel handling certificate recognized by Technical Safety Authority BC (Directive D-GA-2017-01) and CSA Propane Storage and Handling Code CSA B149.2-15-5.2.1

    • Successful completion of the TWS Train-the-Evaluator Program.

    • Comprehensive General Liability insurance coverage of at least $2 million
